Meetup Conversation

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Christmas UX meet up held on Dec 19, 2024. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hello - noticed at the top of this page it says 19 December as the date for Xmas UX meetup but email and Doreteya says 13 December?

Noticed Doroteya and email I received says meetup is 13 December but the top of the page and when I save my invite to calendar says 19 December??

Hey, not being superstitious but thought Friday the 13 might be… risky ;).

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 19th at All Bar One Wimbledon! Reservation is under the name ‘Doro’.

Hey everyone - I’m new to this group and I’m planning to attend this meetup on 19th. I’m really looking forward to meeting you!

I’ve been working in UX and Content design roles here in London for the last 5 years in the language learning EdTech industry, but I was made redundant last month so taking the time to brush up my portfolio and meet other UXers in London.

I enjoyed Doroteya’s comment about Friday 13th, as someone who was born on Friday 13th, I guess it’s always felt like a lucky day for me ;)

I can’t attend this meet up but it’s great to see them being organised! Have fun all and hopefully see you at a future one :)

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Also, here’s an UX initiative I found to be very inspiring Share the Knowledge Tour | IxDF

Feel free to post stuff that has inspired you, helps to break the ice ;)

If you arrive early, please ask at the bar to be taken to our table. The booking is under the name Doro or Doroteya at 6:15 for 16+ people. Thanks, see you soon

It was so lovely meeting some of you last night, thanks for coming out and sharing your stories!

I’ve learned a lot about a new and emerging UX field: prompt design, thanks Zoe! Also, it was great to hear about a successful transition from accounting to UX - anything is possible! Finally, Rushikesh, your business cards rock - love the retro feel of a physical business card with a digital twist to keep up with the user needs!

Once again, a brilliant evening. Hope to see you soon again in the new year.

In the meantime, enjoy Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!

Doro

Meetup attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meetup by clicking “Attend this meetup” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meetups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meetup (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meetups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
